First Lutheran Our School

irst Lutheran Church has been in operation since 1867 and has supported a school since 1981. Our school strives to provide an education of the highest scholastic standards. We endeavor to foster excellence in an environment where Christian living and ideals are expressed and practiced. First Lutheran School, a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, is one of over 2300 Lutheran schools in the United States.

First Lutheran School is an exciting ministry of First Lutheran Church. We offer a Christian education to children in preschool through grade 8.

The children are taught all academic subjects as well as the love and care that Jesus has for each of them. Discipline is handled in the framework of Christian love and concern.

Chapel services are conducted every Wednesday. Christian songs and student involvement are an important part of chapel worship.

Computerized Reading Management Program
In addition to our excellent reading program, all children participate in reading from the best in children’s literature. Progress is measured and
they are continually encouraged to read at their individual reading level.

Foreign Language Instruction
Spanish is offered to children in the seventh and eighth grades.

Math
The math curriculum is one that helps students see the orderliness of our world. Class sessions are enhanced with daily review and drills. Students are advanced in math concepts, problem solving, and computation.

Tutorial Assistance
Our staff is trained in helping those who need personal attention. If however, you deem it necessary to request a tutor for additional academic work, faculty members are available for a fee at a time set by the instructor.

Basketball
Third through eighth grade students have the opportunity to participate in interscholastic competition on the First Lutheran Eagles basketball teams.
