Our School welcomes children with no church affiliation, members of other faiths, as well as those of Lutheran congregations.

Applications and enrollments are subject to approval by the Principal. New students will be interviewed and may require academic testing prior to enrollment. Students are admitted on a probationary period to determine if First Lutheran School suits their educational needs.

Children entering Preschool or Kindergarten must turn either 4 or 5 respectively on or before September 1 of that school year. These full day programs provide opportunities for learning through play and activities in a safe, nurturing environment.

hildren enrolling in the other grades must present their last report card and be willing to participate in a battery of tests, if found necessary, to pinpoint grade placement. Records from the previous school will be requested by the principal’s office directly from the child’s previous school.

First Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students of the school.

The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in admission policies, or on other school-administered programs.


Admission Policy
The following statements help to indicate grade placement for children enrolled at First Lutheran.

  1. The student should be capable of academic subjects at First Lutheran as indicated by school records and standardized tests.
  2. The student has been promoted from the preceding year or the parents are willing to have their child repeat, if considered necessary by First Lutheran.
  3. The student has a sufficiently positive record of school discipline and emotional adjustment to insure successful orientation at First Lutheran.
  4. The student does not have educational needs which are beyond the resources of First Lutheran.
  5. The new student’s first quarter shall be considered a probation period.

Book and Materials Fee
The Book and Materials Fee is $100.00 for each child in Preschool through Grade 8. This fee must be paid by August 1st, directly to First Lutheran School.

Tuition for 2005-2006
• The re-enrollment fee is $75 per family for returning families. After April 1, 2005, the re-enrollment fee is $100 per family. The fee is non-refundable.

• The enrollment fee is $100 per family plus a $25 screening fee for every new child enrolled. After April 1, 2005, the enrollment fee is $125 per family plus a $25 for every new child enrolled. The fee is non-refundable.

• The book and material fee is $100 per child. It is non-refundable.

• The preschool tuition is $3,300. For preschool enrollees who have a sibling in First Lutheran School, grades K-8, the preschool tuition is $2,830.

• The tuition for grades K-8 is $2,830.

Tuition Fees for New Student Enrolling for 2002-2003
The cost of educating one child at First Lutheran is approximately $3,000. The tuition base for each child is the same. First Lutheran Church continues to support its educational ministry as it contributes to the Christian education of each child. As tuition is reduced for families with more than one child, the support from the congregation increases.

Tuition Payment Plan
The board of Christian Education has investigated a number of tuition plans in an effort to run a more efficient school, improve the cash flow, be cost effective and provide options to parents. Therefore, the FACTS tuition payment plan is used. Families will be able to pay their tuition in one of three ways:

  1. PAYMENT IN FULL by July 1. This payment is made directly to the school and entitles you to a 5% discount.
    ($2830 - $113.75 = $2161.25 total cost for tuition for 1 student.)
  2. MONTHLY AUTOMATIC DEDUCTIONS THROUGH FACTS over a period of 11 months starting in July. Parents can select either the 5th or the 20th of the month as their payment date. All enrollment forms must be turned into the office by May 1st to begin payment in July.
  3. MONTHLY PAYMENTS TO FACTS VIA CREDIT CARD over a period of 11 months starting in July. Payments are due on the 5th of the month. If you choose your Visa or MasterCard, you will be given instruction to call a toll free number to register.

lease realize if you use FACTS, all that happens is your bank makes your tuition payment on your behalf from your account to FACTS. FACTS and the school never have direct access to your account. Families enrolling after May 1 will have adjustments made in that tuition payments are completed by the end of the school year.

Preschool Program
The readiness skills developed in Preschool can be an advantage for children when they begin Kindergarten. Our Preschool program for four-year-olds meets full day during the school year. This answers the need for parents who want their children in a safe, nurturing environment for the whole day. It also provides more opportunities for learning and social development through play and
activities. Time for lunch and resting will also be provided. Preschool tuition for our full day program (8:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.) is $2275. If there is more than one student in the family, the discounts explained above will apply.

After School Care
Children needing supervision after school may enroll in the Eagle’s Nest Program. Time for homework as well as games, activities, and snacks are available from 2:45 until 5:30 p.m. A fee of $3.00 per hour per child is assessed.
Open Registration
You are encouraged to enroll your child as soon as possible. Openings in classrooms are filled on a first come, first served basis. Books and materials are ordered during the summer only for those students who are registered.
